Leeds Loves Shopping festival goes ahead for 6th year.

Leeds Loves Shopping – the UK’s only retail festival – returns for a sixth year with a late night shopping launch event on Thursday 13 October 2011. The Big Shopping Night Out will give visitors to the city the opportunity to take advantage of late night opening, events and offers throughout the ‘high street’ stores including Accent, Topshop, House, Primark and House of Fraser. There will be street entertainment in the Victoria Quarter’s Shopping Affair.

Iceland’s  volcanic eruption is turning out to be a hot ticket for tourism. Perhaps the best thing that has happened to Iceland’s moribund economy in the last couple of years is the recent eruption of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano, 125km east of Reykjavik. Weather forecast for Good Friday: “Cold, changeable and risk of heavy downpours”. Typical! What to do with two over-excited offspring plus holidaying friends with two more equally energetic youngsters?
